After 19 years of serving our community through equine-assisted therapeutic programs, Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center will be closing its doors.

This decision, made on June 18th, 2025, was not made lightly. Strides has faced increasing financial hardship over the past several years. Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to secure the long-term partnerships and consistent funding necessary to sustain operations.

​

Strides requires nearly $10,000 per month to operate at full capacity. In recent years, our support has dropped to less than half that at times, forcing us to dip into reserves just to stay open. Like many small nonprofits, we’ve struggled to recover in a shifting financial and political climate that has made it harder than ever to thrive.

We are heartbroken to say goodbye—but deeply grateful for every rider, family, volunteer, donor, and supporter who believed in our mission and stood beside us. You've helped change lives. You've given people confidence, strength, and joy. You've helped our horses find purpose and our participants find healing.

As we begin the process of dissolving Strides, we carry immense pride in all we’ve accomplished together since 2006.
