THE STRIDES STORY...

Since 2006, Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center has been dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities through equine-assisted activities and therapies.

Strides is powered by a diverse group of passionate volunteers who ensure the non-profit fulfills its mission. Their dedication and love for the program have been central to Strides' success.

In addition to helping children and adults achieve their goals, Strides provides a second chance for our horses, giving these gentle souls a new purpose. Their transformation inspires not only our riders but also their families. Visit our facility to meet these amazing horses and consider supporting their care.

Mission & Vision

  • Mission: Unlocking human potential by harnessing the power of a horse.

  • Vision: To become a premier center accredited by PATH International, offering therapeutic riding and equine-assisted activities to individuals in the greater Columbia Basin region, including Tri-Cities and surrounding communities.

Professional Affiliations
Strides holds certifications from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Int’l.) and the American Hippotherapy Association (AHA). These affiliations reflect our commitment to excellence, requiring extensive training for our therapists, instructors, horses, and volunteers to better serve our community.

The Strides Experience
Located just five minutes outside Pasco, WA, Strides offers life-changing experiences in a rustic tranquil countryside setting. Each week, clients from across the Columbia Basin connect with their 1,000-pound "therapist" in a safe and supportive environment, achieving goals they once thought impossible.

Our programs focus on abilities rather than limitations, and the results are extraordinary. Clients range in age from two to over one hundred and come to us with a wide variety of challenges, including cerebral palsy, sensory processing disorders, spinal cord injuries, strokes, developmental delays, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

Every program is tailored to meet the unique needs, abilities, and goals of each client, developed in collaboration with parents, caregivers, physicians, and therapists. Learn more about our current programs and how they can make a difference.
