LEGACY GIVING
Planning your legacy is a powerful way to make a lasting impact on the causes that matter most to you. By including Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in your estate planning, you ensure that future generations will continue to benefit from the transformative power of equine-assisted activities.
Charitable Bequests
A charitable bequest is a simple yet meaningful way to support Strides through your last will and testament. Bequests allow you to direct a portion of your estate to a charitable organization. To carry out your wishes effectively, it’s important to use specific language and name the recipient accurately.
For example, a bequest to a national organization might inadvertently go to its headquarters when you intended it for a local affiliate. By naming Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center explicitly, your generosity will directly benefit our programs and mission.
Types of Bequests:
General Bequest Language
“I give, devise, and bequeath to STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER, 5426 N Rd 68 Suite D #204, Pasco, WA 98052, Tax ID # 20-8371068, the sum of $ ________ (or a description of the specific asset) for the benefit of STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER and its general purposes.”
Specific Bequest Language
Specific bequests designate a particular item or property to be used for a defined purpose, such as tuition assistance or equipment.
“I give, devise, and bequeath to STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER, 5426 N Rd 68 Suite D #204, Pasco, WA 98052, Tax ID # 20-8371068, the sum of $ ________ (or a description of a specific asset), for the benefit of STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER to be used for the following purpose: (state the purpose). If at any time in the judgment of the Board of Directors of STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER it is impossible or impracticable to carry out exactly the designated purpose, they shall determine an alternative purpose closest to the designated purpose.”
Residual Bequest Language
This type of bequest allocates the remaining portion of your estate to Strides after other obligations are fulfilled.
“All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER, 5426 N Rd 68 Suite D #204, Pasco, WA 98052, Tax ID # 20-8371068, for its general purposes.”
Contingency Bequest Language
Contingency bequests provide for Strides in case your primary beneficiaries do not survive you.
“I devise and bequeath the residue of the property, real and personal and wherever situated, owned by me at my death, to (name of beneficiary), if (she/he) survives me. If (name of beneficiary) does not survive me, I devise and bequeath my residuary estate to STRIDES THERAPEUTIC HORSEMANSHIP CENTER, 5426 N Rd 68 Suite D #204, Pasco, WA 98052, Tax ID # 20-8371068, for its general purposes.”
